I think this scanner is a great scanner. For the features that it has and for the price it is well worth it. I have several Uniden scanners and this one is the tops for features. Have had this scanner for several weeks now and am still trying to figure out all the features. You have to use this scanner to get the “feel” of everything it does. Mine is mounted at fingers length away on my radio console in my vehicle where I can just easily press buttons while I am driving. You need to be able to access this radio to capture frequencies and program on the fly. I have been and electronic technician for over 50 years and owned lots of radios and this one is a winner. Now for the bad news, the programming sucks. The manual on disk sucks and even the guys trying to tell you an easier way still leave things to be desired. Like one reviewer said it is frustrating, yes it is but get through that and it is a great radio. Oh the only bad thing I can say for Amazon is they could pad the radio when they ship it to you. Mine came in a box just the same size as the radio originally came in and that was it not one piece of paper more to pad it. So since it came through the mail it has been shock tested before I got it. Uniden makes a good product or I would have had screws loose inside the radio if it wasn’t. Remember now this is not a digital capable scanner, so if you want that feature you will need to spend the extra bucks. This one does do narrow band and am/fm etc.
I would have given it 5 stars except for the programming and the packing issues.
