Pregnancy Tracking in Garmin Connect™ and on Your Wrist
November 10, 2020
Are you pregnant? First of all, congratulations! Secondly, have you noticed changes in your body, such as increased heart rate or stress levels, faster breathing or fatigue? You’re not alone. Pregnancy is an exciting time, and it’s a great time to take charge of the things you can control, like staying healthy.
We’ve added pregnancy tracking to Garmin Connect to help you do just that. Now you can easily transition from logging your periods and understanding your cycle to tracking your pregnancy and keeping track of what matters.
With this new feature, you can follow your pregnancy week by week and get educational content related to exercise and nutrition. We’ve also added new pregnancy-specific symptom tracking and the ability to manually enter and track baby movement and blood glucose levels. You can set up customized reminders to help keep track of hydration goals or to remind you to practice your Kegels. Even get weight gain recommendations to help track your progress. All while tracking your usual health metrics — including sleep, Body Battery™, activities and more — from your Garmin wearable to see how your body changes each week, month and trimester.
We’ll even tell you about important things like gestational age and baby size compared to common fruits and veggies.
You’ll be able to log and track your daily details from your compatible smartwatch using the Pregnancy Tracking Connect IQ™ app*, which will sync with your Garmin Connect account.
And while you’re out there staying active, here are some ways you can customize your settings in Garmin Connect and on your compatible smartwatch during your pregnancy:
- Pause your training status. This helps if you notice your status decreasing with the increased heart rate and blood volume that normally comes with pregnancy.
- Enable high heart rate alerts for your activities. This will help you monitor your heart rate so you stay within your doctor’s recommendations.
- Adjust your daily hydration goal. Hydration is key!
To start tracking your pregnancy, open the Garmin Connect app and navigate to User Settings > Women’s Health > Cycle Type > Pregnancy. Once you’re set up, you can download the Pregnancy Tracking Connect IQ app* and start tracking on your wrist too.
