The unit works well but entering waypoints could be better. Not having a dial pad makes entering names a long process. The GPS determines location quickly which is a plus. I had to buy an extension cable for my 22′ boat. A longer cable would be nice.

I have had Hummingbirds for the last 20 years, I purchased a Hobie Pro fishing kayak and it comes with Lowrance mounts built into the hull, so I looked at u tube and looked up the Lowrance Elite 4, I was pretty impressed with what I found. I purchased this unit, installed it, and used it on five fishing trips so far. it works great on the kayak. I have a hummingbird gel cell battery and I have the battery voltage displayed on the screen, it seems to use about one tenth of a volt about every two hours, so you can fish all day and have no problem with battery life. I like that you can select what you want to see on the screen, I have water depth, speed, water temp, time of day, and battery voltage. I keep it in a tri-screen configuration with GPS on top, fish finder on bottom left, and sonar on bottom right. easy to read even in direct sun, very easy to use. I would recommend to a friend.

There really isn’t a comparable unit available for the price and feature set. I purchased mine from Gander Mtn. And came with the screen cover and mapping SD card (129 value). I am very please with its easy of installation and use. No issues and the HDI high frequency image transducer provided amazing detail. It literally looks like an underwater camera! It’s amazing what they can jam into such a small package. Very pleased.
