Dead GPS Device That Requires Some Expertise To Locate
One of our financial lenders has had a run of bad GPS devices that are not pinging to reveal the location of the vehicles. It all depends on the vehicle. If you do enough research you can figure out what the “normal” draw is on your own vehicle. That information is useful for electrical troubleshooting.

September 8, 2011@OffroadNathan Yes it would. They don’t have a backup battery. I install those gps units pretty frequently. But if they get disconnected the finance company will get pissed and want to get it repaired right away if they figure it out.

September 8, 2011Would a dead battery on a vehicle like this be caused because of the GPS running off the battery but the vehicle never being started to recharge the battery?
