May 4, 2012a useful tool,
I found this item here, which is much cheaper than the ones in other places. I got a good deal. It’s a very useful tool. It does not fit all the vehicles due to the position of car’s cigarette charger.

May 4, 2012Does the job…,
I saw this the other day and thought it was a fantastic idea…
I picked it up earlier today and put it in… With a few adjustments it’s working perfect.I see a one or two have made an issue of it coming out of the socket. There is a dial on the plug, turn it clockwise, and it will expand the metal bands, and stay put. I turned it while it was not plugged in, turned the knob until it wouldn’t go in the lighter socket, backed it off a turn and put it in, then gave about a quarter turn to snug it better. My only real issue with it thus far is how low it sits. It’s hard for me to hear my phone when it rings, I had it placed higher on the dash prior to this device, so I would notice it ringing…
Drivers, I put this in an 06 Century Classic. ( See Photo ) I haven’t had an issue with putting the truck in reverse, which I thought I might after I put it in, but it’s out of the way. I have noticed, moving back to the bunk, my knee hits it, so I will have to take more care now… I’ve driven the Cascadia, and Kenworth T600… I don’t recall where the ligther is in those, but I do recall there are two power points in the Cascadia, so placement may be easier… Pilot Points, didn’t cost me a dime.

May 4, 2012Great charger and holder,
I had seen this unit in my friend’s car and really liked it. I got it for my BMW 3 series. Initially it seemed that the cigarette lighter socket was too close to the gear shift and that the bracket would not be able to fit in. But this unit has a couple of swivel options and I was able to configure it in such a way that it faced away from the gear box. The other reviewer mentioned that his unit does not stay in the socket. There is a wheel that can be adjusted so that the device stays in place. My unit has not moved once since I attached it to my lighter socket. I have been on rough roads where the car was shaking, but the unit stayed put.
All in all I am very pleased with this unit and would recommend it.
