A-GPS: Assisted GPS, GNSS, and SBAS
A-GPS: Assisted GPS, GNSS, and SBAS
Assisted GPS (A-GPS) has been developed to provide greatly improved capabilities, helping GPS work better and faster in almost any location. Offering a detailed look at all the technical aspects and underpinnings of A-GPS, this unique book places emphasis on practical implementation. The book reviews standard GPS design, helping you understand why GPS requires assistance in the first place. You discover how A-GPS enables the computing of a position from navigation satellites in the absence of precise time a topic not covered in any other book.
Moreover, you learn how to design and analyze a high sensitivity GPS receiver and determine the achievable sensitivity. The book provides detailed worksheets that show how to compute, analyze,

March 14, 2012The definitive book on AGPS!,
Very detailed and clear explanations of AGPS in all regards. I found this book very useful, and I have already cited it in some of my research projects. I especially appreciate the coarse-time and fine-time acquisition sensitivity curves in Chapter 6. Highly recommended!

March 14, 2012Fantastic book on GPS system design,
This is a fantastic book on GPS (& A-GPS). My understanding of GPS system design & performance evaluation grew exponentially after reading this book. I’ve read a lot of GPS books. They all tend to be extremely theoretical and written with graduate students / researchers in mind. This book bridges the gap between theory & practice and offers incredible insight into the way real-world GPS receivers are designed, as well as the intuitive thinking behind each concept.
I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking a in-depth understanding of GPS principles & practice. I would rate this book in the top 1% of my list of GPS books.

March 14, 2012Reader’s Review,
I have read this book couple of times already. I highly recommend it since it can be used by the new comers to GPS as well as the experts. It has lots of detailed information that you can not find anywhere else. What i like about it is that the author does not leave any subject unexplained. He explains every term or subject about GPS that allows the reader to understand the subject well and encourage the reader to go on and continue reading and learning about GPS. It also has some real examples on how to design a GPS chip. The author does not only explain the theory behind GPS , but he also shows you details on how latest GPS chips are designed.
I want to thank the Author for providing this gem for us, it made my life and my work much easier.
