The 25 Garmin Connect Badges You Never Knew You Needed
August 8, 2024
When we put in the work to achieve our fitness goals, we want to feel rewarded for our efforts. Sometimes, when we are in a slump, we want to be active in a way that leaves us feeling refreshed. That’s why we created Garmin Connect Badges — a quick and easy way to track your progress, receive points and recognition for your activities, and create connections with other users.
When earning badges on a Garmin cycling computer or smartwatch, you’ll accrue points. Points let you compete with your connections, climb the leaderboard and level up. The more activities you complete, the more points you’ll earn. Levels range from level 1 to level 10.
Need some inspiration? Here are 25 Garmin Connect badges that are guaranteed to add a little excitement to your exercise regimen.
1. Zombie
The Zombie badge encourages users to complete challenges together. Get with a friend or connect with another Garmin user who already has a zombie badge and complete a challenge. Once the challenge is complete, you’ll earn your zombie badge and 1 point. Connect with another user without a Zombie badge and help them catch the zombie virus and earn a badge.
2. I Am the Night
It can feel impossible to get in a workout during a busy day. But why should the hour define when you choose to exercise? The I Am the Night badge encourages users to squeeze in a late-night activity and earn 1 point. You can earn this badge by recording any activity between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.
3. Planning Ahead
Achieving any goal requires planning. If you are training for a race, competition or just want to get a jumpstart on planning your day, the Planning Ahead badge rewards users for scheduling a training session on connect.garmin.com. You’ll earn 1 point when you get this badge.
4. Frosty
Lacing up your shoes and heading outside to sweat is hard enough in an ideal climate — add in the potential layer of ice, and all bets are off for most of us.
Completing a workout can be hard on its own, but completing one when the temperature is extreme can be even harder. Push yourself and head outside to complete a winter workout in below-freezing temperatures. Once you do, you will receive the Frosty badge. This badge earns you 2 points, getting you two steps closer to leveling up.
5. Let’s Get Physical
The Let’s Get Physical badge rewards you for your creativity. We know crafting the perfect workout routine for your body’s needs takes time — and is deserving of a badge. By creating a workout in the Garmin Connect app, you will receive 1 point alongside your new badge.
6. Pathfinder
If you are training for a race, it can be hard to track an exact route that lands you at the mileage you want. By creating your own route ahead of time, you will be able to see where to go and how to get back to your starting point at just the right time. Create and record your course in Garmin Connect, and you’ll earn 1 point and the Pathfinder badge.
7. Networking
Are you competitive, and do you thrive when you train with friends? By connecting your social media to Garmin Connect, you’ll be able to discover and connect with other users. Once you link your socials, you’ll be able to grow your following and increase your competition — plus, you’ll also earn 1 point and the Networking badge.
8. Sharing is Caring
Garmin Connect allows you to post and explore events. If you see one that might interest someone you know, share it with them. Once you do, you’ll earn our Sharing is Caring badge and an extra point.
9. Arctic Plunge
Calling all divers! Taking a deep dive into cold temperatures can be both exhilarating and shocking. We know an icy plunge is not an easy feat, so the next time you take a dive in waters below 60 degrees and record your dive in Garmin Connect, you’ll earn double the points and the Arctic Plunge badge.
10. Toasty
The Toasty badge recognizes that summer days bring intense heat, making any exercise under the sun draining and exhausting. By pounding the sizzling concrete and catching some rays during your workout, earn double the points for any activity while it’s 100 degrees or warmer.
11. Insanity
The activity that lives up to its name — insanity. For the extreme runners out there, earn the Insanity badge by running 100 miles in a single run. Earning this badge will earn you 8 points and supreme bragging rights.
12. Appalachian Trail
While it’s possible that you might be undertaking a hike along the Appalachian trail, you don’t have to travel to the long stretch of ever-changing terrain to complete this expedition badge. By opting in to this badge challenge, your daily steps will be tracked and once you reach 2,200 miles (3,500 kilometers), you’ll earn yourself the Appalachian Trail badge and 8 points.
13. Everest
The office isn’t exactly Everest, but hey, those high altitudes and treacherous weather conditions aren’t for everyone. By tracking your daily floors climbed, you…
