APAC Garmin Health Summit in Taipei: Wrap-Up

December 2, 2019

The inaugural APAC Garmin Health Summit took place in Taipei on Oct. 24-25, 2019. Matching the success of the Garmin Health Summit in Europe, the fully-booked APAC event hosted guests from 47 different companies for presentations and discussions between digital health industry leaders from all over the world.

The summit began with attendees enjoying an
exclusive opportunity to see the production line at Garmin’s newest factory. An
evening event featured a keynote speech by Vincent Shi, SCOR/ReMark Group head
of China and South Asia titled “Beyond Life: The Experience of Living.” Representatives
from insurance industries, healthcare technology providers and IoT services had
a chance to network on innovative ways to combine their solutions.

On day two, guests returned for a full day of thought-provoking speeches and discussions. Wilson Chen, vice president of Nan Shan Life Insurance, announced the exciting collaboration between SCOR and Garmin that leverages the SCOR Biological Age Model (BAM) for dynamic underwriting solutions. Professor Feipei Lai, National Taiwan University Hospital, gave a presentation titled “Next Generation Healthcare Information Systems for Precision Medicine.” Jerry Hsu, Asus Life senior manager of Health IoT Product, discussed “The Win-Win for IoMT Platform and Device Companies in the Market.” The event was rounded off by a panel discussion followed by another chance to network with industry leaders.
