Garmin Marine Ambassador Spotlight: Chris Rabil

I was born and raised in Maryland where I enjoyed my summers fishing off Ocean City, MD and in the Chesapeake Bay. After I graduated college, I moved South where I could enjoy being on the water and fish year-round.

We’ve been living in Dania Beach, FL for 7 years now. We have one daughter, Madison, and are expecting twins at the end of this Summer. I really got into photography 2 years ago. I’ve always enjoyed taking photos of my fishing adventures, so I took the next step and purchased my first DSLR camera and my hobby has spiraled out of control since then. I’m currently a contributing photographer for Marlin Magazine and have recently done boat shoots for Bertram and Caison yachts. I enjoy expanding my hobby and love to collaborate with fellow photographers every chance I get.

I want to continue to learn the art of photography. I love taking photos of boats and jumping fish. I hope to get the chance to travel to and photograph billfishing hot spots such as Costa Rica, Kona, Bermuda, and Madeira in the future.

I choose Garmin because their tech works, plain and simple. It has the easiest software available. I have no problem jumping from boat to boat and using anything from the Garmin line. I help relocate boats quite often and I always smile when I see Garmin sun covers at the helm. I know I can quickly fire them up and trust them to get me to my intended location in any condition.
