Well, color me surprised! This little stand delivers in spades. Mounting is easy-peasy. Pull down the lever, slide it into your car’s CD slot, flip the lever closed. If it’s too loose, change out the tabs that fit into the CD slot. 3 extra sizes of tabs should give almost everyone a perfect, snug fit. Once installed I put some pressure (pulled really hard) on it, trying to dislodge it. Nope, it’s not going anywhere until I release the lever.
Mounting my iPhone was even easier than installing the holder. I pulled the phone bracket out to the side and slid my phone in place. The bracket snapped back into place and held it tightly. Next I flipped the holder all around, testing to see how well it held the phone in various positions. No matter how I moved it, it stayed rock solid without the least wobble.
I really like it for use as a Nav system. Nav apps are notorious battery drains, but with this positioned where it is, chances are it’s right over the ashtray (with it’s handy 12V slot) in most cars, perfect for a car charger. The cord doesn’t need to be extra long, or be wound around the stick and through the cup holder, it will likely be (as it was for me) a few straight unimpeded inches between the power jack and your phone.
To test the limits of the holder, I put my dude’s Galaxy Note 4 (with a rugged case) into it. It fit just as easily as my iPhone, with about ¼-⅜” of extra space available, ready for the next generation of bigger-than-the-last phablets.
After living with it for a week, I’m a convert. This is a car mount done right, the way they should be. That it’s half the price of some of the others I’ve seen about town is a nice little bonus. I recommend it without reservation.

Another great phone car mount from IPOW. Mounting your phone to the CD player slot keeps your phone much closer to your reach.
IPOWS CD player phone mount installs really easily into your cars dash installed CD player slot. There is an easy “tension” lever that locks the mount into place snugly. It does not apply to much pressure to damage anything. And by lifting the locking mechanism, you can easily remove the phone mount.
This phone mount will hold a phone between 2.5″ and 3.5″. It holds my Galaxy Note 4 with a case on it with no problem. The package includes several additional inserts to help adjust its grip for small phones.
This phone mount is very well made. It sits securley in your cars radio CD slot, and the phone mount part itself holds the phone tightly.
The only “con” I would have to mention is that if you actively use your CD player in your car, this device will get in the way. You will have to remove it to change CD’s.
I definitely recommend this product based on form, function and overall value.
