September 18, 2015Good for the money,
The only real issue I have with this unit is that in the shallows, over hydrilla weed beds, the unit tends to pick up the weeds as fish. It starts going crazy, showing dozens of fish under the boat, when you can look over the side and clearly see there are no fish, only weeds. I had an identical issue with an older model Garmin as well. Since it only occurs in the shallows where you can easily tell that the “fish” are a false reading, and it only seems to be hydrilla that causes the reading, it’s not a huge issue. There must be something about hydrilla that makes the unit think it’s fish.
Overall a good unit for the money. At this price you can’t expect perfection.
