The old one had worn out – possibly from the unit falling off the dash onto the floor. It wouldn’t stay in locked position.

The original mount for our TOMTOM broke quite easily when my husband tried to take it off the window. Luckily this isn’t too expensive a fix, I just hope it doesn’t break as easily as the last one.

October 19, 2013Pretty much saved my GPS unit,
It sucks when the only thing wrong with your GPS is the stupid little mount. I would come out every morning and find my TOMTOM hanging by the USB/Power Cable. It looked like the little guy was continuously trying to hang itself. After a year or so of me taking it on and off the dash and tossing it around, the little pad gets dirty and stiff. A new mount made it seem like I had a new unit. Just remember, it takes quite a bit of muscle to pop the old one off and press the new one in.
