I didn’t read enough reviews to know how exactly it works and it didn’t come with any instructions. I didn’t even know the lever on the base locks the holder. I don’t remember if I had the lever up or down when I used it before. Anyways, after I left such a bad review, I came across a review where it says to lift the lever up first, and press the holder down on the dashboard and then push down the lever to lock the holder. I did just that and it stayed in place on my dashboard even with sudden turns!! I did rinse it with warm water instead of caold water this time and let it air dry. So my tips are: 1.Have the lever up before placing it on your dashboard. 2. Press the base down real hard. 3.Use some force to push down the lever, and you will have a very secure cell phone holder on your dashboard. 4. Rinse the sticky pad on the bottom of the base with warm water and air dry it when needed. This cell phone holder is of good quality. It can hold your phone vertically and horizontally. You can adjust the angle once the phone is in place which is a huge plus! My only gripe is that I have a hard time getting in and out the phone with this holder.

I liked it in my CRV when I first tried it.That was only for a few days. I then tested it out in my Prius during my trip to LA. It was a bad experience. It just wouldn’t stick to the dashboard and kept falling over! So I decided to just use it in my CRV but it turned out that it no longer sticks to the dashboard like it did before! I tried rinsing the gel pad with water, and letting it air dry. I also cleaned my dashboard. but NO HELP!! It just won’t stick anymore!!
