   The manual states 50W x 4@4ohms RMS. This is definitely false advertising (like all the low-grade chinese garbage). No difference in volume level from my Clarion head unit – unless you count the distortion this amp puts out. It’s more likely 25Wx4 rms. Never again will I be a cheap skate and buy another amp by one of these bargain bin companies. I just wanted a little more sound in my boat. I *may* have decided to keep this amp, but the bass was so distorted, I thought my sub was blown. Good thing I had a variety of extra speakers around for testing. The crossover section is worthless for the most part. 200hz hi pass makes the mid sound REALLY thin, forcing you to use full range mode. Low pass is 100hz.
   The amp looks great, was very easy to hook up and that’s about the only good thing I can say about it (the only quality that earned a star) Returned to amazon and I purchased a MB Quart Marine NAU460, which is a TRUE 60W RMS x 4 @4ohms. All I can say is, the MB Quart blows the SoundStorm out of the water!! (yeah I know, it’s 2.5x more expensive but you’re getting 240+ watts vs ~100 and 10X better sound quality)
   The SS has a single 15A fuse whereas the MBQ has twin 25A.
   Do yourself a favor and spend a few more bucks on a real amp or you will regret it. With 20+ yrs of install experience, I should have known better. There are companies like JBL and MBQ that sell reasonable priced amps that will put the SS to shame.

   This is amp looked good on paper and sounded great in a friends truck so I got one before I knew how large this unit was. I had to return this. I was trying to put this under the front seat of a standard cab Ford Ranger and it was too large which is my fault for not looking at the measurements. I was not thinking about the size as the last amps I had and installed was back in the 90’s and I do not remember them being that large. The amp I ended up with was less impressive compared to this one but it is all that would fit. Next time I will get a larger truck so I can fit this amp. 5 stars for what it sounded like in my friends Ford Ranger.
