Every RAM mount product I have ever used/seen has been excellent, rugged, high-quality and impervious to the outdoor elements.
I used this mount to add a RAM ball mount point to a 7/16″ diameter steel pipe on the dashboard above my motorocycle.
It works great. Very secure. after tightening it up and riding for 24 hours (over 3 day period) over bumpy roads, no slippage or movement.

There is a half round spacer that comes with this product also, it fits between the U-Bolt and the pipe/handlebar that you mount it too.
